Book Review: Strange Beasts

What a refreshing book this is! Granted that I have been a long time fan of Sherlock Holmes and anything to do with the fandom that it was with a bias that I picked the Strange Beasts from Netgalley without any hesitation. Of course, world of Sherlock Holmes + Fantasy with magical beasts involved= COUNT ME IN PLEASE! And here, take my money! Book Review: Thieves’ Gambit

The Thieves’ Gambit definitely surprised me because I tempered my expectations for it given the average ratings it got from Goodreads. The novel definitely matched my mood when  I was reading it; no dilly-dallying, straightforward, and packed with action. The story immediately introduces us to our narrator, Ms Rosalyn Quest, thief extraordinaire and a member of a large thieving family in the North American Continent. The Witch Wife is not just historical fiction which the synopsis would lead you to believe. It’s a cross between sci-fi, historical fiction, and fantasy. Heh. The story is heavily focused on the struggles of our heroine, Irene Shannon, a courageous high ranking official of the…

In this second Novella, we get to see Ada and Rian meet again the latter’s home planet. As usual, every thing that Ada does always entails trouble. Although Rian is one brilliant government official, he is no match against Ada’s cunning and lustful ways. Heh.
