Book Review: The Davenports

There was no other reason why I picked up The Davenports from Netgalley other than the fact that it was offered as one of the “Read Now” books and well, I liked that dashing yellow cover.  I have literally zero expectation when I dove into the book. It’s that sort of day when you just tell the Universe that, “Hiyah, let us surprise ourselves by choosing and reading a random book.”  Yes, I went into The Davenports blind and not to offend anyone (I’m not American), I don’t even have the slightest idea who C.M. Book Review: Nightstrider

Why is the author making us wait this long for the 2nd book to come out? I want to jump right into it after finishing Nightstrider because I don’t want to break that feeling about being so hyped up about our beloved characters finally smoking the peace pipe (albeit temporarily) and uniting to bring down the accursed conqueror of both the Wake and the Reverie. The last time I requested an ARC, Storm Siren, from them was probably in 2014 and I really enjoyed the book. So when I went back to Netgalley and saw the ARCs they were offering, I immediately grabbed this one. And just as I expected, The Winged Tiara delivered all the things that I want in a historical romance novel. Two lovable protagonists, an action-packed plot with full of twists, a cozy romance all happening in different quaint places. Our story starts when our heroine,…

Event Review: #CampNetgalley

As they say, it’s always better to be late than never because I was certainly late for this online Netgalley event. It’s a good thing that I was looking for titles yesterday and I came across the Camp Netgalley in the Read Now titles. Hehehe. So I joined because having a #CampNetgalley badge is kind of cool. When I checked the things that need to be done for a successful participation in the Camp, I thought that “OK FINE. These are all doable given the time that I have so let’s do this.” So here I am right now, writing…
