Book Review: Wheel of the Infinite

Before reading this book, I did not even know who Martha Wells is until a quick search in Goodreads revealed that she’s one of those old beloved classic high fantasy authors. My bad. As far as I can remember, my whole world back in 2000 solely revolved on J.K. Rowling and the Harry Potter series…and well, the occasional Roald Dahl here and there.  I refused to read anything not related Harry Potter. But anyway, back to the Wheel of Infinite, I did not know that it’s a reprint either when I requested the eARC from Netgalley. All I know is…

Book Review: The Phoenix Keeper

Isn’t this the coziest and cutest book this 2024? The whole time I was reading The Phoenix Keeper, I felt like I got transported into the world of cozy games (i.e. Stardew Valley, Potion Permit, Animal Crossing) wherein I have to grind my ass planting and harvesting plants, and taking care of my livestock every single waking day and I did not mind all the work because everything’s just so enjoyable. But believe me, I also had my phase wherein I won’t read anything that is not a romance book at all. So give me some street cred because…

Book Review: A Girl Like Us

It’s not so often that I read Mystery-Thriller books because it’s not just right up my alley. But when I came across this one in Netgalley, there’s something about that cover, title, and synopsis that gripped me and so I made a request. Little did I know that it would blow my mind away in the most dizzying and delicious way. Told from two alternating point of views, A Girl Like Us has wrapped me around its pages from start to finish. Why? Because reading it made me feel like I am watching a teleserye with all the salacious secrets…
