Book Review: Coraline

Neil Gaiman really has a way with words. Coraline is such a very short audiobook but nonetheless, Gaiman’s words and how he narrated the whole story still made me shivered with wonder as I listened to it. Just like The Graveyard Book, Coraline is brimming with a creeptastic vibe that will immediately pull you in into the world. Coraline’s setting seemed simplistic at first since the house where Caroline and her parents moved was somewhat normal… the next door neighbours seemed normal, too. But as the story progressed, everything is not what it seems to be as there’s a lurking…

Book Review: Soft Core

I wish I could fully articulate my feeling about this book because it’s just different from the other contemporary books that I’ve read. For one, that cover alone is enough to make me question myself whether or not I’m making the right choice when I requested this from Netgalley. Soft Core is some sort of a diary written by a half-lucid person slash slice-of-life novel. Something Rotten was a random pick from Netgalley, a sort of challenge for myself to read something that’s way out of my comfort zone. And well, who could resist that crying baby cover which really piqued my curiosity? It’s not something that I get to encounter every day what with the SFF books that I usually prefer to read. I’m glad that I picked Something Rotten because it gave my brain a new stimulation that’s not focused on who’s gonna usurp someone’s kingdom or will the boy/girl of destiny fulfil the prophecy. Something Rotten is not your typical contemporary-couple story…

Book Review: I’ll Have What He’s Having

No shit, Sherlock, but this book is sexy as hell. How can it be so fluffy and orgasmic at the same time? Like there’s a lot of smut and there’s a lot of wholesome fun, too. Well, I don’t care how the Adib Khorram did it but I’ll have What He’s Having is one of the best contemporary Adult MM romances I’ve read in my entire reading career.  This book is just so beautiful and perfect from its amazing cast of diverse characters, to how the romantic plot was designed, the dialogues, the beautiful setting of Kansas City, and down…
