Unfurling the Tangles #02

There’s nothing worse than to walk out along the street without you. I don’t know where I’m going. You’re the road, and the knower of roads, more than maps, more than love.

~Rumi, The Essential Rumi Coleman Barks

The sun is up high; the paths are clear,

The compass pointing to the right direction,

The wind blowing gently; the ground firm,

It was a nice day to walk, only it wasn’t.

My feet kept moving, brow sweating.

The moon took over, its light guiding me.

And still my feet moved, muscles aching,

A soreness begins to bloom within.

For as far as I have walked & stumbled along,

I am still lost, never arriving, always searching.

Be with me. Be my eyes. Witness everything in togetherness.

Hold me. Be my hands. Lead me to places new and old.

Tell me. Be my mouth. Let me hear of stories you’ve known and made up.

Love me. Be my heart. Put fire and ice that’d enliven this soul.

And soon, we will arrive, for you are the road and the journey’s end.

A being transcending something magnificent as the Northern Star.

Happy 3rd month, you epic hooman being.
