Happiest 16th monthsary to us! It’s always such a high to be aware that you are in a relationship with your favorite hooman being in the whole planet. And it’s intoxicating to realize that you are falling more and in love with this person every single day when you thought that you can’t already love him/her more. But things would just happen and you just realize one morning, that you still have more to give and you have no regrets. It’s not about worshiping the person like a devotee to his/her god/goddess. You still acknowledge and accept the flaws and know deep in your heart that you wouldn’t love him/her without those. This is the kind of relationship that I have with Baymax. The more I spent my time with him, the more that I am discovering new things about myself, him, and relationship in general. All these feelings are so blissfully complicated that it’s easier for me express things using poetry and any other gibberish because love is supposed to be entropic and inexplainable. So brace yourself because you are in for another poem.
A Million Short Years
They say that life is short,
That moments are fleeting,
That we should be in a hurry,
That we should eat healthily,
That we should live simply,
That we should live happily,
Day by day, we ask ourselves,
Is it worth it?
Why not live without the complications?
Why not live without the pain?
Why put burden on the poor heart?
But is the feeling of love truly a burden?
Love can transform short into a million years,
Love gives purpose to a meaningless existence,
When the light is fading,
Those million short years, an anchor
to the last memories of our life’s bliss.
So love despite the hardships,
love despite the starkness,
Because all those short years
become millions.
