Wow. November was a blast I tell you. I get to finally catch up with my reading goals. Not to mention that we were so courageous and adventurous for finally pursuing the Davao and Samal Island Trip. Imagine being confined to the house-office routine for so many months while your mind is on auto-default on worrying about yourself or your loved ones catching COVID-19. So taking the trip with the love one was definitely freeing even if the places visited were familiar.
It was pretty neat that we didn’t face any pandemic-related hassle as we made our way to Davao. The hotel check-ins were also a breeze. The only stress that we faced was the fact that we don’t have a car to conveniently scour the Island of Samal. Luckily, one of the residents was brave enough to rent us his motorbike. And given our physical built, the bike looked relatively small which made me fearful because it’d prolly give in. I’m glad to tell you that the Universe worked with us for the duration of the whole trip.
If there’s one thing that I truly appreciated about this pandemic was that Davao City was not so crowded. There was less traffic and the mall was not jampacked so my worries about us getting COVID-19 was at tolerable levels. We dined on high-end restaurants at some days then eat out at the local carinderias. Of course, we also made our presence available in several Jollibee stores. Heh.
It was a different scenario with Samal Island because there was a long line of vacationers when we arrived at the port. It took us 2 hours just to get on board the barge that will take us to the Island. Mind you, the barge trip only took 30 mins. Anyway, it was still worth it because Samal is glorious as ever. The weather was nice and the place that we chose to book our stay was definitely worth it. It felt secluded, mysterious, and peaceful. We spent most our time being indoors just cuddling, watching TV and me playing Stardew Valley. On the times that we went out, we made sure to have a swim in the sea and in the infinity pool. And yes, we also visited the famous Hamigitan Falls. How we got there? Please go back to the 2nd paragraph.
Here are a few pictures of that memorable trip.
So that’s all for my November. How about yours?
