Book Review: Frozen

I should have listened to Queen Elsa’s Let It Go when I was reading this dreadful book because as I went deeper, the story just got crazier (in the most negative way possible).  I should have let it go when I was still at 30% because it was the most terrible book I’ve read after Journey to Rainbow Island.  The only redeeming quality that Frozen has is that it was so ridiculous I could not stop myself from laughing every time I turn a page.  What ever happened to the saying that two heads are better than one? Apparently, that…

Book Review: Avalon

I really don’t know what to expect in a book that is recommended to the fans of Joss Whedon’s cult hit show Firefly. Yes, I know Joss Whedon’s the celebrated director of the box office hit The Avengers but Firefly? Nope.  Nonetheless, I picked this up because it’s sci-fi and the premise is appealing. So when I decided to read this book, it was of great caution. I even encased my heart with steel bars just in case. It has been glued over and over again…

Book Review: The Giver

The Giver is perhaps one of the reasons why dystopian novels are suddenly gaining popularity these days. The Giver gives us a break from the usual fantasy adventure, sci-fi and thriller books that we’ve come to love. The Giver brings us into a whole new world wherein the community just feels creepy and alien. In the Giver, we followed the story of Jonas, an ordinary boy who got the initial shock of his life when he was appointed as the successor of the “The Receiver of Memories.” Jonas and all the members perfect community do not feel pain nor the…
