Book Review: Immortal Dark

This book is just crazy in a level that it’s dark, full of psychotic people characters (I think calling them morally gray would be an understatement), and something that will make you question yourself whether it’s bad behaviour if you’re trying to be a good person every single day. Immortal Dark is this irreverent story about an unhinged and psychotic character Kidan Adane. She’s an orphaned heiress of one of the oldest arcane houses in Uxlay University. Before the events of the book, she’s living a normal life with her younger sister, June, and foster mother. Kidan’s life made a…

Book Review: Moon Called

For my 4th or 5th Audiobook, I picked Mooncalled by Patricia Briggs to listen to and oh boy, I am glad I did because first and foremost, the narrator was wonderful. As someone who just started her Audiobook journey, I have a hard time listening to Audiobooks since English is not my native language, thus, accents can be confusing and my understanding through hearing is simply programmed to understand TV shows, English-dubbed animes, movies, and songs. Being focused for large part of time on a narrated text is something that I really have to learn because you know, I love growth. So…

Book Review: The Scarlet Veil

I’m actually torn about this book. I enjoyed it and at the same time, it frustrated me a lot. For one, I enjoyed Celie’s growth as a character and how she coped up with her horrid past. I also like the how the story was structured and how it flowed seamlessly. No scenarios, no convos were forced. And surprisingly, I have grown to like all the characters despite the fact that I did not even read the prequel series of this series. Yes, when I jumped into Scarlet Veil, I was quite disoriented for the first few pages because I…

Book Review: Lailah

Lailah’s a total winner when it comes to giving me a lot of time to sleep, idle around, check blogs, and do other mundane things for three days. Yes, three days.  Normally, I can finish a 300-page book within 3-4 hours but Lailah’s oh so boring that I spent more time doing other things than reading it.  I really expected that Lailah’s going to be a one-of-a-kind story about angels and vampires considering the number of its Wattpad readers.  Alas, I was wrong and it just left me regretting the fact that I haven’t DNFed it at 50 pages. Set…
