Book Review: Bone Roots

After finishing Bone Roots, the first thing that came to mind was “This was weird. Weird in a very good way.” It’s not your typical Disney fairy tale story but nonetheless, Bone Roots has all the feels of a good fairy tale story. Book Review: The Scarlet Veil

I’m actually torn about this book. I enjoyed it and at the same time, it frustrated me a lot. For one, I enjoyed Celie’s growth as a character and how she coped up with her horrid past. I also like the how the story was structured and how it flowed seamlessly. No scenarios, no convos were forced. The heavens must be conspiring to provide me lots of venues to explore the Korean culture because I came across the Last Fallen Star when most of my K-drama picks this year bored me to tears which led me to DNF a lot of them. Wow, I finally finished Eragon after more than a year of dilly-dallying. Eragon was not a bad book but it wasn’t exciting enough to rouse me from the almost catatonic languishing that I’ve been doing during the height of the pandemic.
