Book Review: Breakaway

After weeks of toiling, it’s always nice to unwind and curl up with a short and straightforward book. Much better if the said book doesn’t need a lot of mental gymnastics. Book Review: Coming Up For Air

I’m never the sporty type but if someone asks me what’s my favorite sport, it’s more likely that my answer would be ‘swimming.’ There’s just something fulfilling about being in the water and feeling it splash against your skin as you swim. And that is why I immediately picked up and read this book. And wow, Kenneally delivered. Keneally’s world of swimming was intricate, competitive and realistic. Book Review: Skyfarer

Finally, I was able to mine a gem in Netgalley. Despite some minor issues, Skyfarer didn’t disappoint from beginning to end. The story goes like this: An apprentice sorceress, Aimee de Laurent, just finished school and had a taste of what the real world is by becoming a portal mage for a spaceship named Elysium. Book Review: The Upside of Unrequited

Albertalli is now getting promoted from my Author Watch list to my Favorite Authors List. Though I enjoyed The Homo Sapiens Agenda more (Simon and Blue FTW), The Upside of Unrequited has its own charm to draw in readers to its universe.
