Book Review: Dear Killer

Dear Killer is not a book that would be enjoyed by everyone.  I even have a feeling that a significant amount of readers will hate and burn it. For starters, the main character of this book is not someone that you can really call a “heroine.” Kit Ward is not the girl who will save the day. On the contrary, she’s the dragon who needs to be slain by your knight in shining armor.  And the most disturbing thing is that she has a very disturbing view about morality. Kit’s first rule in life is: There’s no right or wrong.…

Book Review: Glitter Girl

Heaven knows how I struggled to teach myself to love this book. I mean, it’s about blogging and so I was expecting that I could connect with it. Apparently, Glitter Girl is more of a tamed Mean Girls story than a blogging narrative. Meanwhile, Jules is the brains of the duo and your typical plain and anti-social girl. I know. I know.…

Book Review: The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Six More

Henry Sugar is a Roald Dahl through and through. It was funny with outrageous characters but definitely an awesome book for the family. It may have a lot of pleasant exaggeration but the lessons it conveyed were certainly practical and heartwarming. I actually found myself laughing and crying at the same time for Henry wasn’t your typical hero. He had been evil and clueless and yet, he never backed down from making a difference in the lives of those poor children. I’ve learned a lot from Henry. On how he transformed from being immature to mature, from being self-centered to…

Book Review: The Twits

Did I ever mention that Roald Dahl had been a favorite author of mine ever since Matilda? If not, then I am telling you now that I am. For the past couple of months, I’ve already published reviews about the two books written by him, The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and The Witches. Today, I am back with another book of Roald Dahl which is The Twits which have made a straightforward impression on me as a growing individual. Why? Read on, pals! The Twits is a humorous story of a vindictive and dysfunctional couple, Mr. and Mrs. Twit.…
