Book Review: Cinder

Perhaps one of the biggest regrets I have in my life was not reading this book immediately. Cinder has just restored my faith on hyped books and on fairy tale retellings in general. You see, there’s just so many fairy tale retellings made over the years that it was already tiring to read them because they have nothing new to offer. Even the movies suffer the same fate. Book Review: Daughter of Smoke And Bone

It is scary to be writing a 3-star review for a book so loved. It is even scarier to think that there is something wrong with me for not enjoying a book adored by many.  As a reader, I am so easy to please and I am generous with my 4 and 5 stars.  Giving Daughter of Smoke and Bone a 3.5 star rating felt like I am perhaps losing myself. Whenever I’m suffering from a great book hangover, I always crave for something light and entertaining. But I didn’t achieve…

Book Review: Froi of the Exiles

If you have noticed my inactivity for the last few days then there’s just one reason for that: I was busy reading the Lumatere Chronicles and I refused to be bothered by e-mails and comments. I still love you, guys but the pull of Marchetta was too strong that the only right thing to do was to keep reading until my body surrenders.  So I will start this review with a warning. Beware of Marchetta. She will ensnare you with her spell. In Froi of the Exiles, our young Sarnak Thief, Froi has grown up into a fine young man.…
