Book Review: Sterling

I had a hard time rating this book. I kept going back and forth from 3 to 4 and vice versa. Sterling is my very first Adult, paranormal read and I went into it without a lot of expectations since I am treading on unfamiliar territory. I don’t know how things will work in adult paranormal books because my only experience in the said age group only extends from mystery to erotica to HF to EF. At the end though, I decided to give Sterling a 3.5 star rating. The story of Sterling revolves around the life of Zoe Merrick…

Book Review: Angelfall

Books like Angelfall are one the few reasons why readers shouldn’t give up on reading paranormal stories and picking up self-published books.  The journey might be taxing but once you come across stories like Angelfall, all those hitches you’ve passed by will be greatly compensated. It is amazingly unique and greatly depicts Susan Ee’s superb devotion to the genre. The things that made my inner bibliophile happy: The Characters- Ileni is a kick-ass heroine despite the fact that her magical powers are almost drained.  Her realism and cockiness really made me a happy reader.  Not to mention that she definitely know what…

Book Review: Captivate

Captivate frustrated me so much that I was tempted to give it a zero star rating.  Except for the interesting premise, everything about it was off. Not to mention that I was angry at myself for not really checking it out.  I thought that it’s going to be a mermaid book but it’s not. In actuality, it’s about an underwater kingdom of humans. My interest was very high during the first 20% of the book and then it dwindled as the story progressed. The main character, Miranda, was average and easily forgettable. I wouldn’t even bat an eyelash if the…
