Book Review: Somewhere in the Deep

Somewhere in the Deep was not the most boring book that I have read in 2023. At first, I was really interested because our main character, Krescent, is a slave who was made accountable to pay off her dead parent’s debts. In order to do this, she joins monster fights wherein she earns money whenever she wins over the weird monsters on the battle arena. For me, this was a good premise and it really upped my hopes because I assumed that I’d be reading about some sort of gladiator battles all throughout the story.  Unfortunately, the story took a…

Book Review: Eragon

Wow, I finally finished Eragon after more than a year of dilly-dallying. Eragon was not a bad book but it wasn’t exciting enough to rouse me from the almost catatonic languishing that I’ve been doing during the height of the pandemic. In my own opinion, it’s more of a guide or compilation of tips on how to survive in the event of an…

Book Review: Froi of the Exiles

If you have noticed my inactivity for the last few days then there’s just one reason for that: I was busy reading the Lumatere Chronicles and I refused to be bothered by e-mails and comments. I still love you, guys but the pull of Marchetta was too strong that the only right thing to do was to keep reading until my body surrenders.  So I will start this review with a warning. Beware of Marchetta. She will ensnare you with her spell. In Froi of the Exiles, our young Sarnak Thief, Froi has grown up into a fine young man.…
