Book Review: Somewhere in the Deep

Somewhere in the Deep was not the most boring book that I have read in 2023. At first, I was really interested because our main character, Krescent, is a slave who was made accountable to pay off her dead parent’s debts. In order to do this, she joins monster fights wherein she earns money whenever she wins over the weird monsters on the battle arena. Book Review: Eragon

Wow, I finally finished Eragon after more than a year of dilly-dallying. Eragon was not a bad book but it wasn’t exciting enough to rouse me from the almost catatonic languishing that I’ve been doing during the height of the pandemic. The main reason that I picked it up was because all the uncertainties brought by the pandemic made me think that every thing would be a lot easier to handle if we’re grasping to something so familiar. Book Review: Avalanche

Back when I found this book on Netgalley, I seriously thought of the film “Alive” and assumed that this would be on the same vein as the film, only middle grade version. But I was wrong. There were no dramas, no human cannibalism, and perverse misery. There’s only practicality and determination to live.
