Book Review: Fatemarked

Everyone who knows me would probably know by now that while I’m not fond of the A Song of Ice and Fire book series, I’m a big fan of the TV show. And this love has enabled me to pick up the books and plow through them despite the pain. I just couldn’t get into GRRM’s style of writing but I must admit that all the political maneuvering and the overall plot of ASOIAF are mindblowing. Had GRRM’s writing style hooked me, I would have loved the books as much as the TV show but alas, I and ASOIAF are…

Book Review: Coming Up For Air

I’m never the sporty type but if someone asks me what’s my favorite sport, it’s more likely that my answer would be ‘swimming.’  There’s just something fulfilling about being in the water and feeling it splash against your skin as you swim.  And that is why I immediately picked up and read this book. As she was learning the ropes, Aimee and the rest of Elysium’s crew crossed paths with an evil, powerful and ruthless mage knight, Lord Azrael, who is on a quest to find the Axiom Diamond by any means possible. Wow! This was a highly entertaining…

Book Review: The Upside of Unrequited

Albertalli is now getting promoted from my Author Watch list to my Favorite Authors List. Though I enjoyed The Homo Sapiens Agenda more (Simon and Blue FTW), The Upside of Unrequited has its own charm to draw in readers to its universe. The whole set up of the story was very enjoyable, realistic, and an eye opener. So the story is about a seventeen year old girl, Molly Peskin-Suso. She’s a food lover, is fat, very creative, and has lots of crushes but surprisingly, none of them got to be her boyfriend. Her parents are lesbian and bisexual but both…
