Unfurling The Tangles #11

Being that our relationship is relatively young and that there are still some things that we are working on, it has become a tradition for us to meet each other whenever there are long holidays or if our work deliverables are not so demanding. December was challenging for the both us because we were supposed to meet in Davao Oriental to attend as godparents for a dear friend. Unfortunately, Typhoon Odette also decided to make its landfall in the Visayas Island and Cebu City was heavily affected. Mr. Handsome didn’t make it to our meeting place.  Communications was also lost for almost 2 days on a national level. But the Visayas and selected parts of the Mindanao Islands had to endure more since it took almost two weeks for them to get a good signal. And I was dead worried about the hubby’s situation in Cebu. Thank goodness, the universe was merciful and I was able to visit him in the last week of December.

We celebrated New Year together, went beach hopping, and did a lot of food binging because what is life for but to savor all the goodness with the love of your life?  There was devastation all over in Cebu and though I may sound like unsympathetic to the plight of those who got affected for having fun while they are mired in misery, please understand that Filipinos are so resilient that even if they are miserable, they’d rather do it while partying or having a good time in the beach.

I didn’t want the trip to end but alas, I have to go back for work. I returned to my hometown with my heart so full and my mind filled with priceless treasures. Indeed, home is where your heart belongs and feels the warmest.

To more trips with you, handsome guy! Happy 11th
