Happy New Year to yáll!
How do I even compose my post for my December update? I am still reeling from all the happiness that the world has granted me. Yes, Odette was painful and sad but at the end of the day, you have to haul yourself out from the quagmire that you’re drowning into. And so, after celebrating Christmas with my family, off I went to Cebu to celebrate 2021’s culmination and the 2022 New Year with my beloved.
My arrival was met with power outage, non-stop rain, no internet signal, and limited water supply. But worst of all, was the devastation left by Odette: uprooted trees, roofless houses, slopey areas that succumbed to landslide, and the general feeling of sadness in Cebu. That is why it was so uplifting to see that despite the darkness that enveloped the City on December 16, the people are still smiling and hopeful. And thank the heavens that the hubby and his colleagues were all safe in their bunker house. So that made me happy.
Look, even without the basic services, I was still happy because I got to celebrate the New Year with my man. And during the visit, I was able to befriend several of his colleagues. There was drinking and a lot of eating, mind you. Everything seemed normal and yet, magical at the same time. I was thankful that by this time, I was already finished with my 2021 reading target because I did not get any reading time while I was in Cebu.
The hubby and I were busy going to the beach, dating, going to the ore sortation plant, and having small get togethers in the company’s bunk house. Despite the constant rain and the cold, the warmth of our laughter and interactions had beaten whatever gloominess the world had thrown at us. My diet even went down the drain because who am I to refuse the bounty of nature? I also discovered that I actually liked lamb steak a lot and I think that I wouldn’t mind being served with it every single day. Hehehe.

On another note, I would also like take this opportunity to lay down my 2022 New Year’s Resolution:
- Be more spiritual by seeking a new spiritual path wherein I would feel a connection and some sort of freedom.
- Be more mature in how I deal with people, with my loved ones including the hubby by always practicing this mantra: Try to be in their shoes.
- To not procrastinate with my reading goals and complete the same.
- Save money by doing away with unnecessary purchases and cutting down on expenses allocated for the complicated beauty regimen.
- Drink more water.
- Sleep 7-8 hours a day at least 6 times a week.
- Aim for a healthy lifestyle. Get back on the groove of fasting intermittently.
- Focus on counting your blessings first rather than wallowing on your misfortunes.
- More time for blogging, less for socmed and online gaming.
- Continue with the learning of a new skill.
- Update the work and personal journal regularly.
- At least tick off one personal and one relationship bucket list.
So how was your January, guys?
